about

I became a bit obsessed with the fluid/feminine aspect of nature at one point. I was reading a bit about sophic wisdom, sacred geometry, and the pagan histories of many of our modern day religions such as christianity. It occurred to me that mother earth and the intuitive aspects of life weren't getting enough credit and so that's where this song derived.
I used an acoustic Ovation guitar plugged into a crate amp with some amplitube effects in Pro Tools thru an old M-box. The drums were sequenced with Reason software. The 9/8 time signature was a very fluid, yet interesting choice for a time signature. It's easy to listen to, yet still complex in nature. The beginning of the piece was meant to be heard as a heartbeat with other organic tones coming to life after it. The piece gets more complex with the addition of the guitar textures and drum patterns. The bass tone and whale-like moaning was also created with the Ovation guitar.

Other times, the sounds take patience to develop. The ideas range from very basic to very complex. These are the recordings I wish to share with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have. ... more
